Through a playful and inventive use of a variety of media (sculpture, graphics, paint and film, to date), Folkert Groeneveld's art is a communication of a personal visual poetry often composed of anthropormophic figures and accompanying symbols. Though these figures and objects are carefully reduced to the bare essentials of form, line and balance, within an equally reduced space, his motive is clarity of expression as they reflect his drive to 'verbalize' his inspiration. Folkert Groeneveld delights in communicating and sharing personal, abstract, verbal associations or the essence of an ethereal inspiration. His creative delight proves positively contagious as his successfully animate, emotive lines create whimsical, frivolous and sunny creations to delight a wider audience.
