Alex Turvey
Recently gaining recongnition as one of 15 creatives who will define the future of arts in Britain by the INDEPENDENT, aswell as being selected by LEVIS as a leading contempoary craftsman for their latest campaign. Alex Turvey is a director, designer and illustrator with an eclectic oeuvre of projects ranging from fashion films, music promos & commercials to illustrated charity cereal boxes. Having grown up by the sea in Cornwall, he now lives by the river in London where he started his career at Precursor, then co-founded the Norway-UK partnership Elefant Art and now runs his own eponymous studio. Alex likes nothing better than textural landscapes, anatomical drawings and glitter; and his surreal visions have been applied to work for the likes of Levis, Shakira, SEAT, Dazed & Confused, Ford, Polydor, MTV, Topshop, Budweiser, Nike & Sugar Puffs. Alex also recently gained recongnition as a top young creative entrepreneur by DAZED, aswell as being highlighted as a leading new director by BOARDS and SHOTS, and was recentley invited to be a jury member for the prestigious D&AD awards.

Ray Donley, the art of los bien perdidos
Ray Donley Fine Art, Oil paintings. Since 1981 Mr. Donley has been exhibiting in museums, universities, and galleries within the U.S., Europe, and in Mexico. The figures portrayed in his paintings - paintings that have, over the years, attracted a near cult-like following - form a part of the cycle of work he calls Los Bien Perdidos (the profoundly lost ones). Mr. Donley currently lives in Austin, Texas.Ray Donley's paintings are part of the New Old Masterism, a slowly but steadily emerging trend in contemporary art, involving not so much a return to order as it was once called, but the realization that avant-garde art has become an institutional clich - hypertrophied, as Clement Greenburg put it years ago - and that what once looked like the clichs of Old Master art are still full of potential. Donley is clearly a master of the medium of oil paint, as his subtle layering and textural richness suggest. It is highly evocative - emotionally persuasive all the more so because of Donley's exquisite chiaroscuro. Donley's imagination needs no prompting. The Old Masters intuitively understood that there is always something strange in beauty, as the philosoper Francis Bacon said, a perception confirmed by the strange beauty of Donley's paintings, as well as the strangely philosophical figures that they bring to life.
